Too little light to bloom

A healthy Peace Lily that never flowers and looks a touch dull is almost always under-lit.

Diagnosis

Too little light to bloom

What's happening

Peace Lily tolerates low light, which is why it survives in dim corners — but tolerating and thriving are different things. Those signature white spathes are powered by light, so in a too-dark spot the plant coasts along green and leafy but simply doesn't have the energy to bloom, and growth can look limp and pale.

How to fix it

Move it to a brighter spot with plenty of bright, indirect light — a few feet back from an east or north window, or filtered south/west light, but never harsh direct sun, which scorches the leaves. If your space is genuinely dim, a full-spectrum grow light makes a real difference and is often the only way to coax blooms indoors. Pair brighter light with a balanced feed at half strength in the growing season to fuel the flowers.
