Needs pinching back to bush out
A well-lit Peperomia Hope that's still long and bare simply needs pinching to fill back in.
Diagnosis
Needs pinching back to bush out
What's happening
Each stem keeps growing from its tip, so even a healthy, well-lit plant gradually trails and goes bare at the base over time. Without pinching, the plant won't branch on its own, and the older, lower stretches of stem stay leafless while all the new leaves cluster at the far ends.
How to fix it
Pinch or snip each stem back just above a leaf node — the little bump where a pair of leaves meets the stem. Cutting there signals the plant to push out new shoots below the cut, so it bushes out fuller over the following weeks. Start with the longest, barest stems, and don't toss the cuttings: Peperomia Hope roots easily in water or moist mix, so you can plant the rooted cuttings back into the same pot for a denser, fuller look.
What fixes it
- Clean pruning snips — Clean, sharp snips make a precise cut just above a node so the stem branches cleanly instead of crushing.
If that doesn't fix it
This is general guidance based on common symptoms; individual plants vary.
